林老師傳統工藝 野生桂花紅茶
A heritage Chinese red tea enriched with the golden fragrance of wild osmanthus.

The fragrance of wild orchids in Master’s Red speaks to centuries of mastery in traditional Living Tea making. Nearly 400 years ago, this very red tea (known as black tea in the West) was first carried from China to the British Empire — a gift that reshaped global tea culture. Today, we still craft it from the same family of ancient tea trees and traditional methods that honour its roots.

Now, this timeless tea pairs with wild osmanthus (桂花 guì huā) — a blossom highly valued in Chinese tea and medicine for its calming sweetness and association with good fortune. Blooming around the full moon of the eighth lunar month, osmanthus fills the mountain air with its mesmerising fragrance of ripe apricot, honey and earthy woodland mist.

Our blending follows the classical technique known as 三窨一提 (sān yìn yī tí), which literally means "Three Warmings & One Lift". In this process, fresh osmanthus flowers are layered with Master’s Red three separate times, allowing the tea leaves to slowly absorb the flowers’ natural oils and aroma. The tea is then gently roasted once (the “one lift”)to stabilise and preserve the fragrance.

Unlike commercial or industrial flavouring, which relies on additives or artificial essence, this traditional method allows the osmanthus aroma, flavour and nutrients to develop naturally within the tea. The fragrance deepens through each infusion and, true to our standard of 十泡有余香ten brews and the fragrance still lingers — the cup continues to evolve with every rebrew.

Flavour profile
Full-bodied and malty, with notes of dark chocolate and summer berry that gradually reveal layers of honeyed peach and soft floral warmth. Smooth, balanced, and enduring.
